A property next door to the childhood home of Queen Mary of Denmark has gone under the hammer in Tasmania.
The delightful brick cottage has been sold off for an undisclosed sum after it was listed for $859,000.
Located in Taroona a suburb of Hobart, the home features three bedrooms and one bathroom.
Queen Mary,52, formerly Mary Donaldson, spent her early years in the four-bedroom home next door, with her three siblings reports Domain.
The future Royal, who was the daughter of Scottish parents, lived in Taroona during her school years. Her old family home was sold in 2001 for $175,000.
The house next door, meanwhile, was built in the 1960s and is a classic ‘suburban’ home common throughout Australia in the era.
Constructed on a spacious elevated block measuring 556.00square metres, it includes a large backyard, gardens and fruit trees.
There’s also a large ‘entertainment deck’ that opens out from the main living room.
Other highlights include a convenient open plan design, and a large kitchen.
Situated just 15 minutes from the CBD, the home is only streets away from the nearby Derwent River.
The same street, meanwhile, was also once the home of well known Australian actor Marta Dusseldorp, famed for her appearances in Jack Irish and A Place to Call Home.
Queen Mary wed King Frederik in 2004 and they share four children: Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, both 13.
