Property buyer has redevelopment plans for 1865-era building that fronts Bienville Square in Mobile


A bridal and formal wear shop, botique retail spaces and sites for waterfront homes near the Gulf are all planned as part of real estate deals across coastal Alabama in recent days.

A circa 1865 two-story building at 157 Dauphin St. on Bienville Square in downtown Mobile has sold for $610,000, according to James Henderson of Realty Executives Bay Group, who represented the seller.

The buyer plans to use the 5,207-square-foot building for a bridal and formal wear shop.

Steve Baker of Roberts Brothers represented the buyer.

Sell Your Press has leased 6,056 square feet of office and warehouse space at 5821 I-10 Industrial Parkway S., in Mobile, according to Pratt Thomas of Merrill P. Thomas Co., who represented the landlord.

Sell Your Press specializes in decommissioning, installation and rigging services for lithograph equipment. The company also offers mechanical and rigging services to the broader market and other dealers.

The Vibe Boutique Mall has opened at 1544 Gulf Shores Parkway across from Rouses in Gulf Shores and has 10 of 14 retail spaces available for lease. The Vibe tenants will include fashion retailers, beauty professionals and artists, according to Angie and David Swiger of Swiger & Company Realtors.

The boutique mall spaces are 10×10 and include water, power, trash and internet along with alarm systems and security cameras.

Watch for Water’s Edge, a six-lot neighborhood at 28633 Sampson Ave. in Orange Beach, according to Real Estate NOW, the development company.

Four lots will have water access to Bay La Launch and are priced at $375,00 per lot. The two direct waterfront lots are priced at $1.3 million and $1.5 million, and each will have a private pier. The minimum size for homes is 2,800 square feet.
