The authority’s board signed off on bonds; $16 million for an expansion of Hugo Boss’s distribution operation in Midway Industrial Park, $80 million for construction of Seohan’s auto parts manufacturing plant in Tradeport East Business Center to support Hyundai’s Metaplant, and $21 million for Westin Furniture’s planned distribution center in Tradeport East. 

Other actions included signing a memorandum of understanding with Kansas-City based Flint Development, which is constructing three Class A industrial/distribution spec buildings in phase 1 of the developing Dorchester Commerce Center at the Midway interchange of I-95. The $195 million project includes 900 parking spaces in anticipation of job creation.

The board also signed an interim lease with Creative Home Ideas which has started construction on a $15 million manufacturing and distribution project in Tradeport East. The 26 acre site will eventually be sold to the Creative Home’s parent company, YMF. 

And the board sold 62 acres in Tradeport West Business Center to SNF Holding. The French company’s polymer plant is the county’s largest employer. It is planning a rail yard on the new property to make room for expansion at its Riceboro campus. The project is expected to cost $20 million and create 125 new jobs, 100 in Riceboro and 25 at the rail yard.
