Cornhole Tournament to raise funds for Greenfield fireworks celebration

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The City of Greenfield will be hosting its third annual Cornhole Tournament on Saturday to prepare for its annual summer firework celebrations.

According to the City of Greenfield, this will be a double-elimination tournament on Saturday with teams of two. Each game will go with a team winning 21 points, with prizes being awarded to teams that finish in first, second, or third place.

At the tournament, a live DJ, food trucks, raffles, and kids activities will be available, as well as alcohol to purchase. The tournament will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Court Square, with a rain date for Sunday.

“Each year, our department is tasked with raising approximately $20,000 for our Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. This year, we are getting creative and planning multiple new community events to assist with our goal. We hope you can join us as we work to put the “fun” in this season’s Fireworks fundraising!” says Christy Moore, Recreation Director.

This tournament is the last in a series of events that serve as a fundraiser for the Recreation Department’s annual fireworks festivities on July 6th. Donations can be made to support Greenfield Recreation’s firework festivities on their website.
