The City of Warren Redevelopment Authority moved on two blighted properties during a meeting this week.
That includes a planned demolition of 708 W. Fifth Ave.
Director of Codes and Planning Randy Rossey said the city Redevelopment Authority purchased the property back in May and the cost for city crews to demolish the property is estimated at $5,000 to $7,000.
“Obviously if they can bring it under they will,” he said, speculating the demolition will occur either this fall or “definitely” be early spring.
The RDA approved that funding as well as sending a letter to the owner at 58 Locust St., a property that has been deemed blighted.
Rossey said the city is unaware of the overall plan for the property.
Authority member Doug Hearn said there has been a “flurry of activity going on over there.”
“We’re happy,” Rossey said. “We’re happy there’s activity over there.”
The owner was invited to the RDA’s next meeting, set for Nov. 30.
