ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – You may be eligible for a cash payment if you rented from Monarch Investment and Management Group (MIMG) in Minnesota before Feb. 1, 2022.
The management company owns several well-known properties in Rochester, including The Gates of Rochester, Olympik Village, Crystal Bay, French Creek, Winchester, and Heritage Manor.
A class-action lawsuit alleges MIMG deceived tenants through its advertising, leasing, collection and eviction practices. An Olmsted County judge ruled MIGM violated Minnesota’s Prevention of Consumer Fraud Act, Uniform Deceptive Trade Practice Act and more.
If you signed a lease agreement with MIMG in Minnesota before Feb. 1, 2022, you may be eligible for a $125 cash payment. You could also be eligible to receive 115% of all water and sewer charges you paid during that period.
The company was found to be measuring utility usage through a single meter on some buildings and illegally ratio billing tenants.
The Colorado base company owns properties across the North Star State, including properties in Minneapolis, Duluth and St. Cloud.
