A 45-year-old property dealer, Noor Muhammad Farooqi, was shot and killed by armed suspects in Zaman Town, Korangi, on Monday. According to police, the suspects fled the scene after the attack. The victim’s body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Eyewitnesses reported that Farooqi was seated between the suspects on their motorcycle when one of them instructed him to run before opening fire. Despite being injured, Farooqi managed to reach a nearby alley, but the suspects returned, shot him again, and then escaped.
Police recovered four 9mm pistol shells from the scene and have launched a search for the suspects. Initial investigations suggest the incident was the result of personal enmity or a grudge.
In a separate incident on Shaheed-e-Millat Road, a citizen shot and killed a suspected mugger who was attempting to flee after reportedly robbing people. The 26-year-old suspect was fatally shot, while his two accomplices managed to escape.
