More support has been announced for businesses in East Palestine.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced financial support for three businesses impacted by the Norfolk Southern train derailment.
Doss Petroleum, Inc, Brushville Supply, LLC, and Ianazone’s Pizza by the Coulter’s are receiving loans from the support program.
Doss Petroleum, Inc, a Marathon gas station, will receive a loan for $69,500. Brushville Supply, LLC is a retail hardware store that sells and repairs tools and machines. They are getting a $187,500 loan.
Ianazone’s Pizza will receive a $34,306.25 to help the restaurant.
According to the release, the Ohio Department of Development launched the East Palestine Emergency Support Program in August 2023. The first loans issued by the program went out in December and another wave was awarded in February.
The loans are available to businesses within a two-mile radius of the derailment site. They range from $10,000 to $1 million with 0% interest. They are forgivable if used for payroll, employee benefits, mortgage or rent costs and utility expenses.
