Republican party starts to split as Trump hits the economy
Some Republicans share their frustration after President Donald Trump hits the economy with tariffs.
Well, President Donald Trump has managed to do what is likely to be irreparable damage to the American economy.
For decades the United States dollar has been the world’s reserve currency. It is the place investors around the world have put their money, especially during times when there are concerns about the global economy. U.S. Treasury bonds have been the safe haven for investors in uncertain times. This has been a huge advantage for America. It has allowed our country to borrow money at more favorable rates than other countries.
Now, in response to the current economic turmoil, turmoil Trump alone caused with his stupid tariffs, investors are dumping U.S. bonds. If it continues, this trend will be a disaster for the U.S. economy. It will cause interest payments on the national debt to increase. And if Trump’s proposal tax reduction bill is passed by Congress, you can kiss goodbye any hope of the U.S. being able to reduce the national debt.
Funny how the national debt is considered to be a problem only when there is a Democrat in the White House.
