Palm Beach is seeking applicants for vacancies on the Recreation Advisory Commission and Investment Advisory Committee.

Residents wishing to apply for the Recreation Advisory Commission have until 5 p.m. May 2 to submit their application to the Town Clerk’s office. The Town Council will review applicants and appoint new members during its May 13 meeting.

Applicants will vie for the seats now held by Millie Dayton, Henry “Budge” Jamison and commission chair Grier Pressly. Dayton is eligible for reappointment, while Pressly and Jamison are term-limited and not eligible for reappointment.

The recreation commission serves as an advisory board that makes recommendations to the Town Council on Palm Beach’s recreation programs and facilities. Preference is normally given to candidates who are enrolled or have children enrolled in one of Palm Beach’s recreation programs, or who are regular users or volunteers at one of the town’s recreation facilities.

Those interested in joining the town’s Investment Advisory Committee have until 5 p.m. May 30 to submit their applications. The Town Council will hear presentations from eligible candidates during its June 10 meeting.

Applicants will fill the seats of Annette Geddes, Lloyd McAdams and Chris Storkerson, who serves as the board’s chair. All are eligible for reappointment.

The Investment Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the Town Council on the town’s investment policies and the investment of the town’s surplus funds. Members are appointed based on their previous fixed-income investment experience.
