BSE issues warning against unregistered investment entity ‘Mehta is Back’

BSE Limited issued a public warning today against an unregistered entity operating under the name “Mehta is Back” and associated with Ashutosh Mehta, cautioning investors about unauthorised investment and trading recommendations.

The exchange stated that the entity, which operates through the website mehtaisback.in and maintains presence across multiple platforms, including Telegram, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and a Google Play Store application, is allegedly soliciting funds from investors without proper Research Analyst Registration. The contact number associated with the operation is 8368636924.

BSE emphasised that neither the individual nor the entity holds registration as a member or Authorized Person of any registered BSE member. The exchange provides verification facilities for registered intermediaries, including stockbrokers, authorised persons, investment advisors and research analysts through its official website.

The warning specifically advises investors against subscribing to schemes offering indicative, assured or guaranteed returns in the stock market, noting such practices are prohibited by law. BSE also cautioned investors against sharing trading credentials with unauthorised persons.

Investors participating in such prohibited schemes will not have access to Exchange’s Investor Protection benefits, dispute resolution mechanisms or grievance redressal systems administered by BSE. The exchange stated that participation in such schemes is entirely at investors’ own risk and consequences.

The warning comes as part of BSE’s ongoing efforts to protect retail investors from unregulated financial advisory services.
