Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s 32nd annual Flower Valley Golf Classic raised nearly $78,000 with support from golfers, sponsors and auction bidders.
“… thanks to our outstanding planning committee, it was a tremendous success,” said Foundation President Alice Milligan. “We are indebted to the sponsors who step forward each year to contribute to this important event.”
Milligan also offered a special thanks to the Mission Club “who made this event possible” and “makes all of our golfers feel welcome and ensures they enjoy the day.”
The event was hosted in May at the Mission Club in Vandenberg Village with proceeds to be donated to Lompoc Valley Medical Center for the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible paratransit van for the Comprehensive Care Center, the hospital district’s skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.
The new vehicle will replace the facility’s 15-year-old van, which is used daily to transport CCC residents to medical appointments, field trips and other locations, a hospital spokeswoman said.
