SPLOST funds were requested By Brandon Stevens Director of Parks and Recreation for Dade for funding a tractor to be used in the parks. He has looked at two different makes of tractors including John Deere and Kubota.

SPLOST funds were also requested and approved for the Dade county IDA.  Director of Industrial Development ,Evan Stone who gave a quarterly report to the commission and ask for 177,000 to finish a couple of Projects and continue two others, one of the projects was the installation of water pipe for Trenton Pressing, Commissioner Robert Goff questioned why the Dade County Water Authority was not using there SPLOST instead of the IDA since they would be billing for the water usage.

Food City is continuing there expansion 12,000 square feet along with gas pumps and will be hiring approximately 120 new people.
Baby Huey’s currently has a food trailer open on Hwy 11 South at the Rec center but has bigger plans to build a brick and mortar restaurant with 125 seats for patrons on that site. Around 21 million in expansion is currently underway in the Industrial Park with 4 different companies. Numerous other companies both retail and Industrial have expressed interest in coming to the County.

The website, https://www.dadecounty-ga.gov/311/Industrial-Development , is a work in progress. The site is/will show property listings, and minutes and agendas from Commission Meetings.

The meeting ended with a executive session for real estate, no vote was taken after coming back in session before they adjourned
