MIFFLINTOWN — Among regular business on Tuesday, Juniata County Commissioners requested a continuance for unused COVID-19 relief funds that came from the state during the board’s meeting.
Juniata County Commissioners also adopted Resolution 2022-15, that, as shared by Alice Gray, “gives the county more business latitude in our engineering services in working with PennDOT.”
Commissioners Gray and Todd Graybill, in the absence of Mark Partner, on Tuesday also announced their joint review of county departmental reports for fiscal jurisprudence and county operational functionality.
In conducting business the commissioners announced meetings they have attended in the last week for stewarding Juniata County forward as well. Gray shared that she attended a CARS (Call-a-Ride Service) meeting, a meeting with the South Central Development board and a joint behavioral health developmental committee meeting. Gray also attended a meeting with the Department of State regarding election security.
Todd Graybill attended courts and corrections committee meetings as part of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.
Gray also mentioned that she attended a meeting regarding excavation and pipeline problems contractors experience in their respective fields and mentioned 811, the national “call before you dig” number that can be called when experiencing problems.
In other business, the board:
• Adopted resolution No. 2022-15, a resolution to authorize registering Juniata County as a business partner on the Engineering and Construction Management System;
• Approved HOME Project Contract Amendment Extension Request for Amendment No.2 for Contract No. 000071400;
• Approved the hiring of Shanel Eaton as a Juniata County Domestic Relations caseworker effective Oct. 25 as recommended by Christie McKelvey, 41st Judicial Domestic Relations administrator. Eaton replaces Karen Cisney. Wages and benefits will be as per the collective bargaining unit contract.
