BRUNSWICK ‚Ohio — Brunswick students showcased their artistic abilities while supporting literacy at the “Brunswick’s Got Talent” show in March. The Student Council-led event at the Brunswick Performing Arts Center (PAC) raised over $800 to benefit the “Read Across Brunswick” summer reading initiative.
After an impressive display of talent in the first talent show held in nearly a decade, judges named three winners: Ray Dickerson took first place with a solo vocal performance, jazz band “The Blue Eight” secured second place, and Rostyslav Kovtun earned third place with an impressive juggling act.
The proceeds will directly support Brunswick High School’s 2025-2026 Summer Reading Program. The program aims to encourage students to read throughout summer break by providing incentives in the form of gift cards from supportive local businesses like Human Bean, Dairy Queen, and Chick-fil-A.
The talent show provided students a platform to showcase their creative abilities while developing valuable leadership skills in student council members through planning and organizing a community event. This blend of artistic expression and hands-on leadership experience aligns with Brunswick City Schools’ commitment to providing a well-rounded education for all students.
