5th annual Sand Springs Truck Touch raises funds for Angus Valley Elementary School | News

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — A truck touch event was held Saturday raising funds for a Sand Springs elementary school.

The fifth annual Sand Springs Truck Touch was held Saturday at Charles Page High School, raising funds for Angus Valley Elementary School.

Angus Valley music teacher Candance Marshall said money raised at the event is going back into classrooms.

“The funds go back into the teachers’ classrooms, so it provides funding for our teachers to be able to buy things that they might need for their classroom and not have to use their personal money,” Marshall said. “Also we are doing a stage renovation for Angus Valley to renew our stage for all of our programs and music productions.”

While the event was free to attend, funds were raised from donations, company participation, concessions and other activities at the event.

Marshall said it’s been fun to see kids interact with the vehicles that were at the event.

“It’s really cool that these kids get a chance to get up close and personal with some of these vehicles that they usually would only get to see from far away,” Marshall said.

FOX23 Evening Anchor Sara Whaley and FOX23 Executive Producer Harlee Karstetter were also at the event. They are both Sand Springs alumni.
