Forbes compiled a list of the 10 best-performing tech funds — those not open to individual investors are available via a financial advisor or retirement account. Fidelity has several funds available, as does Charles Schwab.

BlackRock Technology Opportunities Fund (BSTSX)

  • Expense Ratio: 1.17%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 18.57%

  • BSTSX is focused on fast, sustainable growth and their holdings are estimated to be safe from rivals for 10 to 20 years. Almost 50% of shareholder funds have been invested in their top-10 holdings.

Columbia Global Technology Growth Advisor (CTYRX)

  • Expense Ratio: 0.94%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 17.66%

  • CTYRX looks for companies big on innovations, aiming for solid growth and valuations. Some of their holdings include Apple, Microsoft and Nvidia.

Fidelity Select Semiconductors Portfolio (FSELX)

  • Expense Ratio: 0.65%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 26.53%

  • While this portfolio is only focused on one part of the industry — semiconductors — it offers impressive, if risky, returns.

T. Rowe Price Science & Technology (PRSCX)

  • Expense Ratio: 0.84%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 15.97%

  • With a wide array of holdings and commitment to earnings and sales growth, PRSCX has outperformed its category average for the last 1, 3, 5, 10 and 15 years.

Janus Henderson Global Technology and Innovation Fund (JNGTX)

  • Expense Ratio: 0.81%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 18.26%

  • JNGTX’s portfolio consists of large, fast-growing firms located stateside and overseas. Its earnings and sales growth and annual returns have exceeded their respective categories’ averages for several years.

Rydex Electronics Investor (RYSIX)

  • Expense Ratio: 1.39%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 20.97%

  • This Rydex fund also has a large focus on semiconductors. Their annual returns have performed well in the last 1, 3, 5, 10 and 15 years, which helps to make up for the higher expense ratio.

Fidelity Select Technology (FSPTX)

  • Expense Ratio: 0.64%

  • 10-Year Avg. Annual Return: 19.51%

  • FSPTX’s portfolio consists of companies developing products and services associated with industry innovations. Almost 50% of the investments are in Microsoft, Apple and Nvidia.

Fidelity Select Software and IT Services Portfolio (FSCSX)
