CHICO — The latest batch of finance documents for the four Chico City Council races hit their deadline Friday and have been released for public viewing.
This race features eight candidates spanning four districts throughout Chico. Of the races there are only two with sitting incumbents.
During each election cycle, candidates who have raised enough money to meet the threshold must file a 460 document with the county or city.
This document breaks down campaign finances such as money raised, loans, expenditures and a list of all donors. Donors can be individuals, businesses and Political Action Committees.
City Council races consist of the following:
District 2: Morgan Kennedy vs. Kasey Reynolds
District 3: Dale Bennett vs. Monica McDaniel
District 4: Nichole Nava vs. Addison Winslow
District 6: Jesica Giannola vs. Tom Van Overbeek
The newest documents show money raised and spent between Sept. 25 and Oct. 22. In the previous set of 460s, the money raised and spent was shown for July 1 through Sept. 24.
The election will be held Nov. 8, 2022.
DISTRICT 2
Morgan Kennedy
Previously, Kennedy raised $13,316 in monetary contributions and had taken out $10,000 in loans plus $1,286 in non-monetary contributions. The latest timeframe shows that she raised an additional $3,549 with no additional loans taken out putting her total cash contributions at $28,151.
Her campaign spent $3,867.30 in the latest period putting the total spent at $14,162.11.
