In the rapidly evolving situation with Faze Banks and the fallout from his investments in the $MLG Crypto coin, streamer Adin Ross slammed the YouTuber just before he quit his role as CEO of content creator group, FaZe.
Richard “Banks” Bengtson or Faze Banks as he was popularly known, became embroiled in a controversy with Adin Ross after a screenshot of a private chat from a message group related to the $MLG Crypto coin was leaked on July 28.
Banks accused Ross of being involved in the $MLG Crypto scam in the screenshot.
Banks’ accusations were related to his and fellow FaZe creators’ promotion of the $MLG Crypto meme coin in January 2025, which led to the value of the coin peaking.
Soon after though, the coin’s value crashed when investors began rapidly selling off the coin, leading to FaZe and Banks being accused of removing large investments by ‘rug-pulling’ and scamming fans out of their investments, as per Dexerto.
Contradicting the narrative that he was to blame for the rapid ‘dumping’ of the coin, Banks, in the leaked screenshot, placed all blame squarely on fellow streamer Ross, and wrote,
“Adin Ross f***ed this up, this community dumped on him buying. Used him as exit liquidity…Somehow this falls on me and threads fo farm the whole situation spin it into me selling and dumping coins.”
In the screenshot, Banks also claimed that he drove the value of the $MLG Crypto coin up “organically,” and never sold his share.
While emphasizing again that Ross was to blame, he added,
“When I ran the thing up from f***ing $3m to $200m organically, top blasted multiple times, invested a f*** ton of money and NEVER EVER SOLD The only bad actor in this entire thing is Adin. Point blank. Period.”
Faze CEO and Owner Banks is being exposed for knowingly rug pulling his friend Adin Ross live on stream then shamelessly blaming it on him.
This is spineless I would never support or follow such a wicked and vile human being

Adin Ross slammed Faze Banks in a tweet
After being accused of being responsible for the crash involving the $MLG Crypto coin, Adin Ross took to X to shed light on his position.
While Ross attested to the genuineness of the screenshot from the chat accusing him, he claimed no involvement with the crypto crash.
In a community post on X, Ross wrote that he was disappointed by his friend, Faze Banks falsely pinning the blame on him. He wrote,
“The banks screenshot is real. Sh*t sad asf , if you guys think that mlg being rugged was me im sorry to tell u it wasn’t. There’s a reason that entire house is silent, truth will come out eventually. I’m just more hurt on the fact someone I call my brother is behind my back.”

After Ross’ comments, Banks took to X to tell his and Ross’ fans that he had proposed sitting down with Ross on a stream to talk about the entire fallout. Banks called the fallout a ‘miscommunication,’ and wrote,
“On the phone with Adin right now, we’re doing a stream together tonight to address ALL OF THIS. This whole thing has been wildly miscommunicated and destroyed my mental the last several months. I’ve wanted to more publicly talk about this situation for a while. Sucks any of this f*cked with me and Adins relationship. See you guys tonight.”
However, the two content creators did not get a chance to speak openly on live stream about the situation, as Banks quit as the CEO of FaZe just an hour later. He took to X to write that despite never having “scammed anyone,” the controversy was taking a toll on his life, as well as on that of his collaborators.
Adding that he would be taking a break from the internet, Banks wrote,
“The fact this is affecting the guys at all, is whack. So for the time being I’m gunna be stepping away from not only FaZe, but all this internet sh*t. It’s destroying my life inside and out. Sucks my entire life gets ruined over something I didn’t even do. The real ones know. I wish I could say I’ll be back, but I really don’t know if I will.”
I’ve never scammed anyone a day in my f*cking life. The entire narrative is unfair and part of the reason it exists is cause my “FaZe” name is so easily farmed and manipulated.

Some time later, Banks also confirmed that he sold his $MLG position, and suffered a six-figure loss.
About Adin Ross and Faze Banks’ relationship
It is notable that while the $MLG coin controversy has driven a wedge in the friendship between Adin Ross and Faze Banks, the duo were earlier inseparable.
In fact, back in 2021, Banks had brokered peace between the then-feuding streamers, Ludwig and Ross.
At the time, streamers Ludwig, Nmplol, and Sodapoppin had roasted Ross, and insulted his viewers during a stream, as per Dexerto.
Ross hit back at the streamers, calling them “unfunny,” and also insulting their viewers as “fat, pimple-faced four-eyed people with social problems,” noted the news outlet.
At the time, Banks defended Ross, and as per another report by Dexerto, said,
“You guys were in a room, all six of you guys, kind of taking shots at him, discrediting him. He got a little emotional about it.”
Nudged by Banks, the streamers also exchanged apologies and made up, noted the news outlet.
The friendship between Ross and Banks is being highlighted currently on social media as well. A fan recently took to X to post a clip from a stream where Ross gifted a $200,000 Chrome Hearts Richard Mille watch to Banks, after a similar watch of the YouTuber was stolen in 2023.
