Solana redefines crypto payments with Shopify!
The Solana Pay plugin allows merchants to accept crypto payments with reduced fees. All this while offering real-time conversion into stablecoins such as USDC, EURC, PYUSD, and USDY. The latter is a tokenized note backed by short-term U.S. Treasury bills and demand deposits.
The goal of this new version is to integrate millions of merchants into the crypto commerce. Additionally, to set a new standard for e-commerce payments by improving the payment experience, enhancing customer loyalty programs, and integrating Web3 functionalities.
Stijn Paumen, CEO and co-founder of Helio, commented that merchants can easily reach customers by installing Solana Pay in “a few simple clicks.” “Enabling the largest e-commerce platform to accept crypto payments faster than card payments is a significant step towards the mass adoption of crypto payments.”
The advantages of the Solana Pay update
The Solana Pay plugin update has introduced several notable features and benefits. Firstly, it has introduced a 0.75% transaction fee. These “competitive” fees are necessary to “support ongoing innovation and operational costs.” Next, the plugin includes an on-ramp feature via the Helio dashboard, allowing customers to fund their wallets with crypto in their preferred currency.
