Bitcoin Rides Rollercoaster While ETH, XRP, DOGE Bleed


Crypto prices today saw a considerable sluggish performance in the face of yesterday’s massive crypto market selloff. The global market cap was down 0.66% from yesterday, resting at the $2.58 trillion mark. Further, the total crypto market volume recorded over the last 24 hours is $98.22 billion, marking a notable 19.59% decrease since the past day.

Bitcoin’s price struggled to maintain its position above the $70K mark. Ethereum traded primarily in the red, with XRP and meme coins DOGE and SHIB following the tumbled price movement. Notably, Solana, too, rode a rollercoaster ride, although the token traded primarily in the green.

Bitcoin Price

Today, May 23, Bitcoin’s price chart illustrated a highly volatile momentum, resting at $69.425.23 with a 0.77% dip recorded over the past day. Its 24-hour lows and highs are $68,977.69 and $70,623.69.

The token’s market cap slipped 0.75% to $1.36 trillion, whereas the 24-hour trading volume plunged 21.80% to $31.86 billion.

Ethereum Price

Ethereum (ETH) illustrated a 1.15% dip in its price over the past day and is currently sitting at $3,762. The crypto’s 24-hour lows and highs are $3,655.08 and $3,810.95, respectively.

ETH’s market cap fell 1.08% to $452.16 billion in the past 24 hours, whilst the 24-hour trading volume noted a 26.33% dip to $24.71 billion.

Solana Price

Conversely, Solana’s price jumped 0.88% over the past day, reaching $178.68. Although SOL’s momentum was turbulent, the token has managed to stay in the green. Its 24-hour lows and highs are $175.45 and $183.07, respectively. Meanwhile, the 24-hour trading volume slipped 7.19% to $3.77 billion.

XRP Price

The Ripple Labs-backed token decreased in value by 1.36% in the past 24 hours, reaching $0.5281. Its lows and peaks over the past day were $0.5237 and $0.5377. Further, the 24-hour trading volume declined 34.56% to $1.18 billion.

Cardano Price

ADA’s price trajectory illustrated a 1.56% fall in the past 24 hours, currently trading at $0.4855. Its 24-hour lows and highs are $0.4761 and $0.4924, illustrating a tight trading session. Meanwhile, the 24-hour trading volume plummetted 16.47% to $407.36 million.

DOGE & SHIB In The Red

Dogecoin, the market cap leader of the meme coin sector, tumbled 2.43% to $0.1667 in the past 24 hours, whereas Shiba Inu’s price sunk 3.34% to $0.00002536.

Further, even Pepe coin (PEPE) drained 4.65% in value to $0.00001353.

Top Crypto Gainers Today

Bittensor (TAO) price surged 8.01% over the past day to $455.24.
BOOK OF MEME (BOME) price jumped 2.98% over the past day to $0.01319.
dogwifhat (WIF) price rallied 5.67% in the last 24 hours to $2.98
JasmyCoin (JASMY) price noted 4.02% upswing to $0.02167.

Top Crypto Losers Today

Core (CORE) price plunged 6.62% to $1.69 over the past day.
Lido DAO (LDO) price plummeted 6.16% to $2.08 over the past day.
The price of Floki Inu (FLOKI) noted a pullback, dipping 5.63% to $0.0002242 during the same time period.
Pepe coin (PEPE), as mentioned above, is also one of the top losers.

Upon looking at the one-hour time frame, it can be seen that Bitcoin’s price continued to struggle to gain significant upside pressure. On the other hand, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, and SHIB noted a marginal upswing in prices, between 0% and 0.5%.

However, its worth noting that today, May 23, is the deadline for ETH ETF approval, and the Ethereum price could witness further volatility with both upside and downside momentum.
