A US-China trade deal announced after weekend talks in Switzerland boosted crypto markets, sending Bitcoin closer to its all-time high.

In a joint statement, China and the US said they will temporarily lower the tariffs on each other’s products in attempts to cool trade tensions and give each party 90 days to resolve their differences. 

The US will bring levies on Chinese goods down from 145% to 30% for 90 days. Similarly, China will reduce the tariffs on American goods from 125% to 10% for the same period.

Following the US-China trade deal announcements, crypto market leader Bitcoin (BTC) rose over 1% to trade at $105,231.94 as of 2:08 a.m. EST. With the 24-hour gain, the crypto is now just over 3% away from its all-time high of $109,114.99 that it reached on Jan. 20.

Pi Network (PI), Dogwifhat (WIF) and Kaspa (KAS) posted the biggest 24-hour gains among major cryptos. PI rose 55%, while WIF and KAS surged 39% and 21%, respectively.

The trade deal has eased tensions between the world’s two largest economies, lifting global markets and fueling renewed interest in crypto.
