Monzo customers reported problems with the bank app earlier
Monzo customers reported problems with its banking app earlier today, with payments unable to be sent or received by the online banking feature.
It is believed the issues began around 8.30am today with the problem peaking at about 9am, as 500 reports were made on Downdetector, which tracks website outages.
Some customers said they were having problems with sending money or receiving it via the popular banking app, whereas others claimed they were having issues even getting onto the app, as well as making deposits.

Monzo is a bank which functions only online, with millions of customers around the world, many of which took to X (Twitter) to convey their frustration with issues they have faced.
One said: “Just transferred money to my Monzo account – not come through. Usually very fast. Any issues at the moment? Other bank transfers went fine…”
Another added: “@monzo what’s with the fund transfer issues today? My money hasn’t turned up after being sent.”
A third person continued: “@monzo just transferred some money to account and it not shown!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!”
The bank has replied to some customers on X, with the latest reply at 10.20am today, which read: “We’re aware there’s some issues with the app at the moment.
“We hope this isn’t impacting you too much. Rest assured, we are looking into this and will get it resolved as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.”
Since the issue this morning, The Sun has reported it understands the problems have since been resolved.

However, Monzo is not the only bank recently which has faced troubles regarding services being down, as NatWest’s banking app faced problems earlier this month.
Around 3,000 complaints were recorded as individuals were unable to access the banking app during the day.
A NatWest spokesperson said: “NatWest customers experienced difficulty accessing our mobile app today.
“We have resolved the issues causing this and customers are now able to log in and make payments as normal. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
