Middlefield tells Crain’s that, in his latest position, Cunningham will oversee a lending team that includes seven relationship managers and two commercial loan assistants.
The bank also announced several recent personnel additions alongside Cunningham, including the appointments of Thomas Young and Nick Paradiso as commercial relationship managers in Northeast Ohio and Central Ohio, respectively. Young joins Middlefield from U.S. Bank, and Paradiso comes from Civista Bank.
Meanwhile, the bank notes that Jack Gregorin, a former Middlefield commercial relationship manager in Northeast Ohio, has retired.
The bank indicated that while it’s not planning additions of any other bankers on the commercial side as of now, these appointments nonetheless reflect a push to enhance commercial banking capabilities in its backyard.
“As we continue to invest in our commercial banking business, John, Tom, and Nick bring the experience, leadership and deep community connections that will support our clients and strengthen our presence in our Northeast and Central Ohio markets,” said Middlefield President and CEO Ronald Zimmerly Jr. in a statement. “These appointments demonstrate our commitment to build high-performing teams across our Ohio communities and serve as a reliable financial partner to the region’s business community.”
Middlefield reports total banking assets of approximately $1.9 billion as of June 30.
