Consumers Bank to open first full-service site in Mahoning County | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff report

Consumers National Bank will open its first full-service branch office in Mahoning County next summer, the Minerva-based company said Monday.

Company officials said they received permission from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C., to operate its 24th bank on South Avenue in Boardman. The company has operations in Mahoning, Columbiana, Stark, Carroll, Jefferson and Summit counties.

Consumers opened its Boardman Loan Center in January 2023. The South Avenue location will replace the existing West Avenue office and will create approximately five full- and part-time job opportunities.

“We look forward to building new personal and business banking relationships from our new Boardman branch and to making a difference in the community,” said Ralph J. Lober II, president and CEO of Consumers. “We think Boardman and the surrounding community will embrace our unique brand of community banking.”

Lober said that Consumers commercial loan balances attributed to the Boardman center have grown along with its $1.5 billion deposit market.
