Banking hub for Presteigne customers available for 3 hours

Lloyds shut its branch in the Powys border town on March 3, but says customers will still be able to access banking services once a week, with the launch of its banking hub service.

The service was launched on Tuesday, March 18, although it is only available every Tuesday in town, and for just three hours.

The hub will only be open from 10am-1pm and will be located at the Assembly Rooms (the Blue Room), with no cash services available.

It will provide banking support but this does not include cash services. Basic transactions can be performed, such as account balance, direct debits, standing orders and bill payment enquiries for both personal and business account holders.

The closure was announced last July, although customers fumed that they had not been informed directly of the impending closure.

Lloyds later confirmed that the bank’s cash point was also going to be removed.
