Mortgage servicer and Non-QM-focused lender Newrez LLC has hired Leslie Gillin as its chief commercial officer. She joins the company after serving as chief growth officer at Pagaya, a firm that applies AI and machine learning to help financial institutions and fintechs assess lending opportunities and access capital.
Newrez noted in a release that Gillin’s addition highlights its “strategic commitment to accelerating revenue growth by expanding its diverse products and services and enhancing its customer-first platform for over 3.7 million homeowners” — which, Newrez pointed out, has quadrupled in portfolio size and originations market share in the last five years.
In a post on LinkedIn, Gillin said she is “thrilled to begin [her] next chapter” in this new role, where she will lead Newrez’s commercial strategy by building and leveraging:
- Data-driven insights;
- AI-driven personalization;
- A trusted brand; and
- Strategic partnerships.
Gillin has held senior executive roles at top global banks such as Bank of America, Citi, and JP Morgan Chase. She served, for example, as president of Chase Cobrand Cards and chief marketing officer of JP Morgan Chase.
“At the end of the day, the strongest growth comes from understanding what people and businesses actually need and delivering it better than anyone else.” —Leslie Gillin, Chief Commercial Officer, Newrez
“I have been very inspired by all of my meetings and conversations so far with my Newrez colleagues,” Gillin wrote. “Throughout my career, from global financial institutions to AI-driven fintech, I’ve focused on building strategies that are not only performance-driven but anchored in customer relevance.”
“Because at the end of the day,” she added, “the strongest growth comes from understanding what people and businesses actually need and delivering it better than anyone else.”
At Newrez, that will mean applying data and AI in smarter, more meaningful ways, Gillin contended. “It means creating homeowner experiences that are personalized, seamless, and designed for today’s realities, and it means building the kinds of products and services that meet customers where they are and help move them forward,” she continued.
According to Newrez, Gillin will lead enterprise-wide commercial strategy, focusing on marketing personalization, brand awareness, end-to-end homeowner experience, product growth, and strategic partnerships.
“Leslie brings a proven track record of delivering growth, building iconic brands, and driving customer-centric innovation,” Baron Silverstein, president of Newrez, stated in the company’s release. “Her deep expertise across lending products, marketing, and partnerships will be instrumental as we continue to scale our platform and deliver value to homeowners and partners alike.”
