Nollywood actress, Stella Udeze, disclosed the reason behind her decision to leave a lucrative banking job for a career in acting.
Udeze told LEADERSHIP in Abuja on Friday that she had always wanted to be in the spotlight and working in the corporate world wouldn’t guarantee her realizing that dream.
Udeze worked as a marketer in a microfinance bank in Katsina State for two years after her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) but didn’t find fulfillment in the job.
She decided to resign and pursue her passion for acting, which she started in 2013.
The actress described her banking job as monotonous and time-consuming, stating that she couldn’t continue with it.
She added that she had no regrets about her decision and is enjoying her career as an actress.
She’s also hitting the location in November to shoot her latest flick, “Deputy Wife”
Explaining, the actress said, “Growing up, I have always to be in the spotlight.
I love being admired, I love people talking about. Every time, I watched the television, I wished I was the person there. And my mum noticed it and decided to support me to go into acting after I finished my secondary education.
“But my father insisted I must further my education. And after graduation, I was posted to Kastina State, for my NYSC,where I secured a job with a Microfinance bank as a marketer. I worked at the bank for two years but I wasn’t finding fulfillment in what I was doing. I reigned to chase my dream in acting,” the actress explained.
Udeze attributes her growth in the industry to dedication and hard work and hopes to establish her own production team. She also aspires to star alongside Hollywood actresses.
A graduate of English Education, Udeze is known for her performances in movies such as “Before Getting Married”, “The Other Wife”, Ojoché , Trampled, Dark Petals, The Only Way, Kosi’s Gift and A Bet on love.
