VP JD Vance Champions Cryptocurrency at Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las

Vice President JD Vance spoke at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, saying the Trump administration is committed to supporting the cryptocurrency industry and its role in the U.S. economy. He said the crypto community should continue its political involvement, which grew during the 2024 campaign, as reported by Nevada Current.

Vice President Vance said the administration plans to support cryptocurrency firms and investors by advancing the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act. The bill would regulate stablecoins and encourage their use as a digital payment method. Vance said the Senate voted 66-22 to move the bill forward, showing bipartisan support. He told the audience, “You will never see this administration trying to handicap your community or diminish the impact it’s had on the economy,” which was met with applause, as stated by Las Vegas Sun.

At a recent conference, Vice President Vance discussed the administration’s approach to cryptocurrency, stating, “Maybe the most important thing that we did for this community. We rejected regulators and we fired Gary Gensler.” The comment referred to the removal of the former SEC Chair and was met with support from attendees. Vance said the administration plans to integrate digital assets into the mainstream economy and warned that unclear regulations could lead the $3 trillion industry to move outside the U.S. He also noted campaign contributions from the crypto sector in the 2024 elections and described cryptocurrency as aligned with values of limited government control. According to Nevada Current, Vance said, “The best way to ensure that crypto is part of the mainstream economy is through a market structure bill that champions and doesn’t restrict the extraordinary value that Bitcoin and other digital assets represent.”

The vice president addressed the growing political involvement of the cryptocurrency community during his speech. He encouraged continued participation, saying, “Don’t ignore politics because, I guarantee you my friends, politics is not going to ignore this community,” as mentioned by Las Vegas Sun. He said the Trump administration supports a more favorable approach to digital currency and aims to create an environment that supports the industry’s development.
